Are you a hands on Health & Safety professional who thrives on live construction environments?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of Health & Safety across active construction and installation works, alongside supporting factory-based operations, for a long-established UK manufacturer with a strong regional footprint.

This role needs someone who is comfortable being visible on site, working closely with construction teams, contractors and production staff, and who can balance practical, day-to-day H&S delivery with clear standards and consistent ways of working. You’ll have direct access to senior leadership and real autonomy to influence how safety is delivered on the ground.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Health & Safety across live construction and installation activities, with exposure to associated manufacturing/workshop areas
• Maintain a strong on-site presence, working directly with site teams and contractors
• Review and challenge RAMS, lifting plans, permits to work and subcontractor controls
• Carry out site inspections and audits, addressing issues hands-on and in real time
• Support supervisors and managers through practical coaching, not paperwork-heavy oversight
• Investigate incidents and near misses and ensure learning is embedded on site

What We’re Looking For

• Construction-led H&S experience (housebuilding, installation, contractor-led environments or similar)
• Confident working directly with contractors and subcontractors on live sites
• Strong knowledge of working at height, lifting operations, cranes, scaffolding, plant and traffic management
• Some exposure to manufacturing or workshops (machinery, PUWER, dust, transport) is helpful but not essential
• NEBOSH Construction / Diploma, or NEBOSH Certificate with strong site-based experience
• A practical, grounded approach - comfortable getting stuck in and earning respect on site

What We’re Looking For:

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma preferred)
• Experience in Construction and ideally large scale development projects
• Membership of IOSH or APS

This position offers the unique opportunity to take the lead on Sustainability from day one within the organisation with essentially a blank piece of paper to create a strategy and vision for the organisation moving forward.

The role is based from their London head office with regular travel to sites within the London area and with the flexibility to work from home.

The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for:

• Offering pre-construction and onsite support for Sustainability certifications, including BREEAM, SKA, LEED, and WELL

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Previous experience in Sustainability management within a Construction / Fit Out environment, particularly around BREEAM, bids and tenders and carbon
• A recognised certification such as LEED or BREEAM AP
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain sustainability concepts and to present to various internal and external stakeholders
• Be a self-starter, with the motivation and ambition to deliver within a fast paced and growing organisation
