Sustainable Futures Group (SFG) is delighted to be partnering with an industry-leading Infrastructure company who are seeking an Arboricultural Officer to join their dedicated highways services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the management and preservation of tree stock across one of the most important roads in the UK - the M25 and adjacent roads. With a focus on tree health, safety, and biodiversity, this role combines hands-on tree surveys with data management and contractor coordination.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conducting walked and driven surveys of individual trees and woodlands across the highway network
  • Commissioning and overseeing contractors to deliver tree work and raising tree works orders
  • Managing tree inspection data, including database updates and maintenance
  • Providing guidance on tree root protection zones for construction and landscape improvement schemes
  • Collaborating with landscape supervisors and inspectors to complete soft estate inspections
  • Supporting environmental assessments and landscape scheme development

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven tree inspection and management experience with strong knowledge of arboriculture best practices
  • A LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification (desirable) 
  • Proficiency in mapping software (ArcGIS or similar) and Microsoft Office applications (desirable)
  • Membership with the Arboricultural Association or Institute of Chartered Foresters (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
